Inspire me, again...

- Lolita -

Clothing : Flutterbydaisy
Photography : Fox Harvard

In love with this set from Fox Harvard, unfortunately the box of Dresses, Pixie Tops and frills that were sent back after this shoot went missing... A fairy post-person I obviously presume... she will look better on her delivery rounds now at least... I decided to re-create this collection piece by piece over these next months in-between my other ideas and collaborations, so keep an eye out here, on my FB Page and in my Etsy Shop for these additions frill by frill...

Speaking of which...
I found more delights for you from Etsy Land
Nature, Butterflies and Oddities:

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

In between sewing, There are bunnies:

In between bunnies, there's sewing... I've now finished all the custom orders that stole me from view... I'm back and have lacy ideas. Can't wait to unravel them from my head, make them into things and send them to Etsy searching for wardrobes...

Bunnies everywhere... I found this a while ago on Instagram, saved as 'Lilly_Maria' but that link doesn't seem to work ... thought I'd share it with you anyway because it's pretty...

(If you know the credit let me know and I'll update this)

Pretty Parcels, vinegar and brown paper, like the Nursery Rhyme, but without the vinegar, make that Lavender. Sometimes I loose my mind in here; find me, please. Falling down and bumping my head, not sure anymore who will tumble down after. I hope he would. I think he would. I must dry out some more flowers, in big books that smell like time that no one reads anymore.

Tales from The Treehouse

Just found my old blog, it wasn't hiding... wrote this 8 years ago, doesn't feel that long but I guess could read that way, even though I feel almost exactly the same...

"I don't know. It's not easy to say what's happening inside here where I am. The door is locked and on the outside I hear them screaming... under the door, the crack of light I see ten piles of oranges. The smell rises up into me of dying beetles....
Where am I? Lost inside -
Drag my fingernails along the ground. A cold pavement. Gravel. Bleeding. Is this it? the place where you have taken.... me.... taken. Am I to go now through the crack in the door 'drink me' shrink small? is that it? my name is not Alice sir!"

We Will Not Grow Up ...

We Made A Little Video
... A Deadcuts / Flutterbydaisy Collaboration ...
and here it is : Deadcuts - DK :

Made with love by Mark and Natanya
*
... The Alice Dress from the video is now hanging up in my Etsy Shop waiting for someone to give her a home, preferably in an old worn out closet which has magic doors to hidden worlds ...

... She has been hand dyed, tea stained, and covered in stamped black butterflies.
The back is corseted and the straps tie up in bows

I love our new little video so much I can't stop watching it - I'm all lost inside - definitely not growing up anytime soon - I'm all floaty in Peter Pan and Alice Land
... Here are some creepy stills I caught ...

Our inspiration, if you haven't already guessed was Childhood, but that creep spooky kind you find in the eyes of old victorian dolls.  We walked around The Childhood Museum here in London for hours stealing away lots of footage with our phones... I took photos too, and at one point my camera started to flash on its own taking photos of a painting I was vaguely pointing in the direction of; we were definitely being played with.

"...Ring a Round The Rosie...
a Pocket Full of Posies...
Ashes! Ashes!
... We All fall Down..."

There's lots of Childhood inspiration in Etsy Land too...
Here are some of the most recent ones I've stumbled across and loved

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.

...and from Instagram World : www.instagram.com/bybrittm
I adore this image so much, I'd love to buy a whole series, frame them and put them all over my walls.  I think this lovely photographer can see what the inside of grown up little girls minds look like. definitely a new inspiration - following, following...

Tales From the Treehouse

And so it goes, rolling down hills and bumping our heads.  But there's not quite enough brown paper to fix this and make it better... so I used candy floss.  Brown paper isn't good for you anyway so I've heard.  candy Floss is much much more effective, and tastes like what clouds looks like from above...

...so no apple a day from that Man with a funny face; I'll plant seeds and grow my own instead.  He can just watch while my beanstalk grows out of control and takes over his office.  That will show him. And I don't even like bread; it's nothing at all like spaghetti...

Tales From The Treehouse

He sat for a long time, he looked me in the eye and told me he came because you're over there so he  thought he would keep me company just for a moment or two and then he went away...

... flew away, on his merry way and I was left still here while you are both flying.  It does not seem real anymore; my hands or face.  I want to run, but don't own a compass - maybe that's the point.  I miss you, and love you more than butterflies and compasses.

Tales from The Treehouse
Too many pillows and not enough, lined up fluff.
Movie in the dark then count to see when we can see, what we can see.
..Buns and words and love.
