We Will Not Grow Up ...

We Made A Little Video
... A Deadcuts / Flutterbydaisy Collaboration ...
and here it is : Deadcuts - DK :

Made with love by Mark and Natanya
*
... The Alice Dress from the video is now hanging up in my Etsy Shop waiting for someone to give her a home, preferably in an old worn out closet which has magic doors to hidden worlds ...

... She has been hand dyed, tea stained, and covered in stamped black butterflies.
The back is corseted and the straps tie up in bows

I love our new little video so much I can't stop watching it - I'm all lost inside - definitely not growing up anytime soon - I'm all floaty in Peter Pan and Alice Land
... Here are some creepy stills I caught ...

Our inspiration, if you haven't already guessed was Childhood, but that creep spooky kind you find in the eyes of old victorian dolls.  We walked around The Childhood Museum here in London for hours stealing away lots of footage with our phones... I took photos too, and at one point my camera started to flash on its own taking photos of a painting I was vaguely pointing in the direction of; we were definitely being played with.

"...Ring a Round The Rosie...
a Pocket Full of Posies...
Ashes! Ashes!
... We All fall Down..."

There's lots of Childhood inspiration in Etsy Land too...
Here are some of the most recent ones I've stumbled across and loved

I adore this image so much, I'd love to buy a whole series, frame them and put them all over my walls.  I think this lovely photographer can see what the inside of grown up little girls minds look like. definitely a new inspiration - following, following...

Tales From the Treehouse

And so it goes, rolling down hills and bumping our heads.  But there's not quite enough brown paper to fix this and make it better... so I used candy floss.  Brown paper isn't good for you anyway so I've heard.  candy Floss is much much more effective, and tastes like what clouds looks like from above...

...so no apple a day from that Man with a funny face; I'll plant seeds and grow my own instead.  He can just watch while my beanstalk grows out of control and takes over his office.  That will show him. And I don't even like bread; it's nothing at all like spaghetti...

The Key on Holy Mountain...

We went to the woods still with the body and mind we had the night before...
Alex wore my latest Flutterbydaisy SweetHeart Dress
That now lives far away in Italy :)

I made a necklace too ... from pressed flowers and resin and lace
a Victorian Mourning Locket...

... Find them in my *shop* ... they have names and are called
Secret Garden necklaces...

I found all the flowers myself...
and kept them
pressed them
in a big book
I feel like Im in there too sometimes...

After our walk and dance in the woods Alex took me to her Tattoo shop Holy Mountain it's in Scunthorpe and is pretty inside with art...

... she drew all over me and now I'm new...

...with a circle for entirety and complete and the female, initials of those who got to my ind before you could marry me, a sewn needle going through, and some collar bone dots because we felt like it...

Here are some more flowers for you from the land of Etsy...

Tales From the Treehouse

I gave her my key, I guess it means more to her than me... I shouldn't have gone or came or stayed there was nothing left there for me just heavy heart and nothing ... though I wish it was nothing but there's so much - so much nothing it's hard to ignore... it's all over.  I wish I could be like the other, one day, no feelings to feel anymore, because feelings hurt... not enough smiles to equal out and fade out and make you happy, not for me because of the wish I made in the circle when I was small.  It all comes back on you three times, even with the wishes were dreamed with good intention ... mother earth can be cruel.
So I shall just sit and sew and give you all the smiles inside I have left, until they are no more.
Nevermore he said and he is one of them.

Little Trees...

* New frills for Burlesque Dancing Fairies in my shop looking for a wardrobe *
...and here they are photographed beautifully by Paul Larkins...

Eight new dresses inspired by the sea photographed with pretty jewels by The Lysine Contingency on their way soon - I'm thinking mid July.  More projects to follow... there will be giant rabbits, horses, forests, boats, big buttons, small secrets and frills to the floor...
because of all these dreams talking up my fingers I won't be making custom orders for a little while... but not forever.

The other day whilst on a trip I found this little guy and had to bring him home, his name is George and I think I'm going to grow him some friends from seed, maybe have a wall of little trees...

Tales from The Treehouse

I'm not a builder but bridges are what I'm crafting, learning things I never knew from those I hardly know.  Though truth is a stubborn thing that hides under rocks and grows cloudy with age like real lemonade so we can never really find it, even if and when it was in front of us.  But more about the speaker this telling tells, about how their insides feel now; they don't realise this, but I do, so when they are saying I'm only half listening, the other half is thinking and noting all their telling signs... the heart and the floorboards.  One day the way will be finished and the only bridges I will see are real ones I'll be sailing through for a boat is where I'll live, with no time to stop for long as the time will stop for long and that's the way I dream it.  The only dream I dream to dream to stop me from thinking, of all the things I can't do, like help you... I think you will be ok soon, when you get to where you want to be, maybe you will go back in time and stay forever young dancing to all our favourite songs.  Nanas are beautiful.  And Grandads too.

Tales From The Treehouse

A bee busy and there's not enough coffee in the world... if you'd have stayed and left work somewhere else we would have probably fallen further through a caterpillar hole where time goes all funny then 3 hours have passed in a slow blink of an eye.  I wanted to be closer to you; inside your chest and your eye, like the movie where they're tiny.
Inside.  Inside and all over...
Who would have ever thought this could have happened.
...It's the rest that's unbelievable now... but I'll get a magic pass and escape, might be wrong but I'm not caring, at least we can sit in the dark together.
The bunny: loved.
